Driving down to the Terry Family Reunion in Rockville/Springdale we passed by a large fire near Brianhead that had gotten pretty enormous. The smoke had traveled and Zion was ~a smokey land of mystery~ when we arrived.
Hike #1
Somewhere in Zion?
Our group of hikers were not about to be stymied by HORRIBLE AIR QUALITY so we set out on a kind of trail? Was it a trail?
Examining strange organisms in puddles.
Hi
Since the trail was not really a trail and was definitely not marked we were just kinda wandering for a while.
I'd have been pissed if I traveled far to come to Zion for the first time and it was all smokey but having been there every other year for my entire life it was neat to see it in a different state (although fire is still bad).
Our turn around point.
The crew!

Scenic photo opportunity.
This concludes Hike #1.
Hike #2!
A cousin's pilgrimage to Tiger Rock
Later that afternoon John, Brian and I decided to head up the mountain to a past favorite hangout. The infamous "Tiger Rock" on Grandma's Mountain.
It's not very high up.
We couldn't really fit in it's crag shelter like we used to.
Aptly named.
After climbing down we saw some dogs and some dogs disguised as sheep.
We made this town.
"Hike" #3
We drove to Grafton
I just wanted to post these pics.
